Vladimir Putin’s plane that will be used in the event of a nuclear attack was broken into a stripped of its equipment. The Russian Ilyushin-80 was undergoing maintenance at Tagnarog airfield in southern Russia when the cargo hatch was broken into.According to the Moscow Times, an estimated $13,600 worth of equipment was stolen, including 39 electrical units.
Russian military investigators believe the gear was stolen because some of it contained gold and platinum material. Putin’s spokesman, Dimitry Peskov, said Russia was treating the break-in as an "emergency situation." He also promised "measures will be taken to prevent this from happening in the future," it has been reported.
