More heavy showers are set to washout Britain through the rest of the week with dozens of flood alerts in place today. Temperatures are also set to dip, with many areas struggling to remain in double digits - while 45mph winds are on the cards in the coming days.

A fresh area of rain is quickly moving into the UK and is set to strike Devon, Cornwall and South Wales by Wednesday evening before spreading across Northern Ireland and England overnight.

There's uncertainty about how far north it will spread but low pressure will keep the showers consistent across Thursday before more weather fronts replace it - meaning a deluge of rain for Friday and Saturday.
