Brendan Murphy, a Real Independent, who represents Disley, called his neighbours "peeping tom and the tart." He was sentenced on April 24 at Stockport Magistrates' Court to a 12 month community order.
He also received a restraining order preventing him from contacting his neighbours, Margaret and Christopher Boyd, either directly or indirectly, for six months.
He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £80, and £630 in court costs. Coun Murphy was found guilty of two charges of harassment without violence at Stockport Magistrates Court on Friday,
