There was a large emergency response to the incident in Northern Moor, Wythenshawe on Sunday afternoon, which was said to involve a 'small group of males'.
Pictures from the scene show several police cars and armed police on Sale Road just after 4pm. One witness described how officers entered a terraced house close to Wythenshawe Park.
He said police were also seen removing what appeared to be a large 'meat cleaver' in a clear plastic bag. The 17-year-old was arrested on suspicion of affray.
