Royal fans dub Kate Middleton 'real people's princess' as she sports Diana's jewellery
Kate Middleton has been hailed the 'real people's princess' by royal fans after she sported some of Princess Diana's jewellery at the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey this week. Not only did she make a touching gesture to her late mother-in-law, the Duchess of Cambridge also appeared to show solidarity with Ukraine by donning the blue of the country's flag.Kate looked extremely regal as she wore a sapphire jewellery set that belonged to Diana. She actually wore the same stunning necklace and earrings back in October 2020 when she and Prince William welcomed Ukrainian President Zelenskyy and his wife at Buckingham Palace. The jewellery was the perfect compliment to the blue Catherine Walker coat dress, blue Rupert Sanderson shoes and matching Lock & Co hat Kate wore to the event on Monday.Royal fans were quick to share their thoughts regarding the outfit on Twitter, with several making the obvious Diana comparisons. One wrote: "Catherine is the real people’s princess & the true future to our monarchy."A second said: "Kate she is a gem, reminds me of Diana and I’m old enough to remember her properly."Another said: "The Duchess of Cambridge looked absolutely stunning, very regal. Lovely of her to show solidarity with Ukraine as well, through her outfit choice #DuchessofCambridge #CatherineisQueen #KateMiddleton.""How lovely to see the Commonwealth service again.
