Miranda Hart has taken to Twitter to deny reports that her popular sitcom is returning after a seven-year absence.

Miranda Hart has announced that her beloved sitcom will return for a fourth season after seven years off air. The last episode of the hit BBC comedy series aired on New Year’s Day in 2015 and since then Miranda Hart, the creator and lead actor, has hinted that the show could come back. Now, the 49-year-old actress has revealed that she has written the fourth series, but it’s unclear if the show will return to the BBC after it aired on BBC Two before moving to BBC One in 2012.The comedian admitted that it was the fans that inspired her to return to the beloved sitcom, telling The Sun: "A lot of lovely people have kept on asking for the return of Miranda so here we are and I hope everyone likes it." The Only Way Is Essex star admitted she was taken aback when the admirer explained where she wanted her to write her name.She opened up about the odd experience as she took part in a celeb edition of ITV game show Tipping Point.Host Ben Shephard had asked Lydia to share the most unusual request she'd ever had from a fan."It was really weird," the 31-year-old replied with a smile."I was in Southampton and a lady came up to me and she said, 'My mum was a massive fan of you.'"I said, 'Thank you so much, that is so lovely of you.'"She said, 'Unfortunately she is not with us any more.' So I was like, 'Oh I'm so sorry to hear about your loss' and she was like, 'She is here today.'"So I was thinking, like, in spirit?"The star went on: "And she goes, 'Would you mind signing her?'"As the audience started to laugh, Lydia said the fan then delved into the basket of the buggy she was pushing."She pulled out the urn and I signed the lady's ashes!" she said.Host Ben looked mortified as he laughed while Lydia recalled her unusual story to the audience. The reality star was the big winner on Sunday's instalment of Tipping Point: Lucky Stars, which also saw comedian Joel Dommett and Miranda star Sarah Hadland trying their luck at the competition.Lydia managed to scoop a whopping £20,000 for the charity of her choice - ELHAP (Every Life Has A Purpose).The TV star was thrilled when Ben told her how much the charity would be getting because of her success."Thank you so much!" she exclaimed, looking emotional."That is so amazing!"Tipping Point continues weekdays at 4pm on ITV.
