Hollyoaks' Nikki Sanderson eyes up Corrie return after 10 years on soap

In an exclusive chat with OK!, actress Nikki Sanderson has spilled the beans on her speculated departure from Hollyoaks after over a decade of portraying the tenacious yet tormented Maxine Minniver.The 40 year old star, who hails from Blackpool, confessed that she's taking the plunge without a new gig in sight but wouldn't rule out a return to the iconic cobbles of Coronation Street if the chance presented itself.

Nikki first graced our screens as Maxine on the Channel 4 soap back in November 2012 when she was 28, having already made a name for herself as hairdresser Candice Stowe on Coronation Street from 1999 to 2005.

When quizzed about whether she'd consider a soap switch and return to the show that catapulted her to fame, she responded, "Never say never is my approach." The actress went on to say: "I love Candice and I love Coronation Street, so I'd never close myself to anything if they did want me back in the future, that's the exciting thing about doing what I do.

You just never know what might happen next." She added, "Who knew way back when as a little girl going to drama classes at The Carol Godby Theatre Workshop I'd spend the next 30 years working because of them?
