DownDetector, a website which offers a real-time overview of issues and outages for all kinds of services. SkyHelpTeam told followers at around 8:40am on Thursday morning that engineers were working to get customers back online.
It tweeted: "Engineers are on site and working to restore service ASAP. You can keep up to date on the My Sky App and check your service status here: sky.com/mybroadband We're very sorry for the inconvenience caused."Affected broadband users took to social media on Wednesday night in their thousands to ask why it was not working.
The situation appears to have dragged on overnight, much to the fury of those relying on the internet. One Twitter user wrote on Thursday: "Did you struggle to wake your engineers last.
