Rock Band 4 DLC updates are stopping next week.The news was announced in a post on developer Harmonix‘s blog.“After over 8 years of weekly Rock Band 4 DLC releases, we’re here to let you know that January 25 will be the last DLC release of the RB4 era,” the post explains.“All other live services will continue as normal, including Rivals seasons [weekly online challenges that rotate], online play, and everything else.”Rock Band 4 was released in 2015, and DLC has been released weekly for the game since it was launched. Over 3,000 songs have been released over the years as DLC, with the soundtracks from previous Rock Band titles available to people who have previously imported the licences for the games.The official announcement also explained exactly what to expect from Harmonix in the future, now that they won’t be working on Rock Band 4.“Looking ahead, the Harmonix team has been hard at work over the last two years to develop Fortnite Festival, which brings rhythm action gaming (and more) to the Fortnite ecosystem.

Ready Player One author Ernest Cline has teamed up with AI tech company Futureverse for a new “multi-IP” experience, similar to Fortnite.Announced late last night (January 4), Readyverse Studios has been set-up by Futureverse co-founders Shara Senderoff and Aaron McDonald alongside Cline and the producer of the Ready Player One film, Dan Farah.The first release from Readyverse Studios is set to be the Readyverse, which is due for launch later this year. According to a press release, The Readyverse is a “a dynamic interactive platform of interconnected digital experiences,” with many fans comparing it to Fortnite.Readyverse Studios has already confirmed a partnership with Warner Bros.

Fortnite has confirmed The Weeknd as the first headlining act for its new Festival game more.According to a press release, Fortnite Festival will be the first entirely music-focused mode to be introduced to the immensely popular battle royale game. While Fortnite itself is developed by Epic Games, the Festival game mode is being developed by Harmonix – the studio behind the Rock Band video game franchise.

Fortnite has confirmed a massive collaboration with Lego, with a series of skins and a new survival crafting mode coming to the game.Set to launch December 7, the update will bring a new Lego-themed survival crafting mode⁠ to Fortnite alongside a number of updates skins.The Lego skins will be a free alternative to a number of existing skins, with the mini-fig look available via player’s wardrobes. Several emojis will also have a Lego reworking.According to Epic Games, 1200 Lego skins will be available at launch, with a number of those “highly detailed”. Fortnite skin has been readded to the game ahead of the upcoming Big Bang event.The original Black Widow skin has returned to Fortnite in a shock return, with this being the first time that the skin has been available in-game since Avengers: Endgame was released in 2019. Fortnite Fortnitemares 2023 event will introduce Alan Wake to the game in its Halloween celebrations as part of the upcoming “Waking Nightmare” cosmetic Set.Alan Wake, portrayed by Ilkka Villi, will be available as an outfit alongside his satchel back bling, a torch pickaxe and a “Find Alice” weapon wrap.He is not the only recognisable face to feature in Fortnitemares. The Nightmare Before Christmas‘ Jack Skellington will arrive with a Santa Jack alternate outfit in The Pumpkin King set, as well as a Zero back bling, peppermint parasol pickaxe, Jack’s sled glider, Jack’s Scary Face emote and Lock, Shock and Barrel’s Tub emote.Michael Myers is also landing in the Fortnite item shop at a later date in The Shape set, containing a stabbed pumpkin back bling, kitchen knife pickaxe and stabby keyboard emote.Fortnitemares began yesterday (October 10) and will last until November 3 so there is a lot of time to watch out for these rare character crossovers.Additionally, Fortnite re-added the Horde Rush game mode with its own collection of quests that unlock unique rewards upon completion.

Fortnite has added Ahsoka Tano to the game offering players the ability to wield her Force powers, white lightsaber, and staff as a pickaxe.Ahsoka will be found as a hologram at random locations on the game’s map. Fortnite and Doctor Who could be on the way.In a tweet published over the weekend (April 15), Twitter user iFireMonkey – who has a track record of correctly predicting Fortnite updates – shared what they know about the battle royale’s rumoured Doctor Who crossover.The data miner shared that, based on what they are “aware of”, the crossover will feature a two-week event and offer players free rewards in return for completing challenges.The Doctor Who event will also reportedly add two skins, two pickaxe cosmetics, a glider skin and an emote to Fortnite‘s item shop, in addition to a free “Beep the Meep” spray. Amazon Music has announced One Take, a three-part show that will partner a host of musicians with leading Fortnite players and influencers to see how they fare.Hosted by YouTuber and musician Yung Filly, One Take will pit artists including A1 X J1, Deno and Lady Leshurr against each other in a livestreamed Fortnite tournament.Along with hosts Yung Filly and Leven2K, four competing duo teams have been confirmed. That includes Phineas ‘A1’ Waweru and Wolfiez, Sunpi and Joshua ‘J1’ Somerkun, Archie King and Lady Leshurr, and Gee Nelly with Deno.One Take will kick off this Sunday (October 9) at 8PM BST, with two more episodes scheduled for the same time on October 16 and 23.

Dr Disrespect‘s Fortnite tournament, Twitch disallowed any reference to the streamer because he is banned from the platform.On May 27, Dr Disrespect, aka Herschel “Guy” Beahm IV, hosted a $100,000 Fortnite event named Hot Shot Duo Drop, which featured several Twitch streamers such as Tfue, summit1g, and Zemie.
