Scotland's 'longest serving' foster carer has died after 45 years of taking in hundreds of vulnerable children. Jean Jackson tragically passed away on November 3 after a short battle with bowel cancer.The 75-year-old had still been providing a safe home for some of the most frightened and neglected children in the country until July this year, just before her health began to deteriorate.
Grandmother-of-two, Jean, from Dreghorn in Ayrshire, along with husband Bruce, 75, had dedicated her life to fostering after being brought up in care herself.
