Might voters choose one of these as a farewell salute to a favorite program – or one of two comedic songs from a popular series or biopic of a beloved satirist? The departing (?) “Ted Lasso” has two songs in contention. “Fought & Lost,” from the penultimate episode, has the anthemic qualities of a Queen classic; in fact, composer Tom Howe brought Sam Ryder on board as singer and co-writer after he saw Ryder perform with Queen at London’s Wembley Stadium.

Tom Rowe has been the main musical man behind Ted Lasso for all three seasons, including that memorable and catchy theme song, but it was an assignment to write a song that could really get to the heart of what the series and its title character is all about that has led to an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Music and Lyrics for Rowe and his key collaborator, singer and musician Sam Ryder.

Sam Ryder and Mae Muller, has announced that it will not be selecting the UK’s entry for Eurovision 2024.The management company, which is also behind artists including Lana Del Rey and Ellie Goulding, has helped the BBC select the UK representatives for the past two years at Eurovision. However, the team has now confirmed that it will be stepping down from the role ahead of next year’s instalment.Headed by Ben Mawson and Ed Millett, the company was responsible for choosing Sam Ryder as the contestant for 2022 and Mae Muller as the entry earlier this year.Ryder fell just shy of the winning position last year, coming second place to Ukraine with his song ‘Space Man’.

Sam Ryder and Bloc Party have been added to the list of artists joining Music Venue Trust’s United By Music UK tours.Organised by The National Lottery and Music Venue Trust, the tour sees over 150 gigs visit over 130 venues across the UK, in support of the grassroots music sector.Now, adding to the already extensive list of musicians taking part, English alt-rock band Bloc Party have been added to the bill, as well as former Eurovision sensation Sam Ryder. The former will be performing next month, taking to the stage at The Hairy Dog venue in Derby on July 20, while Ryder will be headed to Southend on September 8 for a show at Chinnerys.Other previously announced artists taking part in the one-off shows around the UK include Cat Burns, Blossoms, Witch Fever, Hamish Hawk and Metronomy.“These are the venues where myself and so many of my pals started at and still play.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor is on the shortlist to become the UK’s entry to Eurovision 2024, according to a source.The country was represented by Mae Muller at this month’s home competition in Liverpool, scoring just a few points.As Mail Online report, a source believes that only one name is currently being touted for next year’s entry.The source said: A source shared: “At the moment there is only one artist on the BBC’s list for Eurovision 2024, and they don’t intend to add to it.“Sophie Ellis-Bextor is seen as the ideal fit for the contest – she’s a great singer and performer, and she is already known to audiences, both straight and gay, across Europe.”Speaking to NME backstage after her performance at Liverpool’s Eurovision Village on ‘EuroEve’, the night before the Song Contest’s Grand Final in the city (Friday, May 12), Ellis-Bextor discussed her chances of appearing as the UK’s entry in 2024.“I think doing it is an amazing opportunity, and that Mae Muller will smash it, but it was never the right thing at the right time – and I’m a big believer in serendipity like that,” she said.She continued: “Recent times have seen Eurovision artists release amazing songs outside of it and these amazing careers being launched. Last year’s Ukrainian Eurovision winners have invited the Princess of Wales to tour with them after she played the piano in a surprise appearance during the opening performance of this year’s contest. Kate Middleton played a pre-recorded instrumental piece, created by Joe Price and Kojo Samuel, during the performance by Kalush Orchestra.The hip-hop folk band congratulated the princess on her “impressive” piano skills and thanked her for joining them, saying it highlighted the “depth of support” the UK had for the war-torn country.The band said in a statement: “We want to thank HRH Princess of Wales for joining us for our performance.

Kate Middleton put her musical skills on display in a special segment opening the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 Grand Final over the weekend.In a clip shared to the Prince and Princess of Wales' official Instagram account, Middleton is seen taking part in the opening sequence of the contest's final leg by playing last year's winning entry on the piano.

Eurovision Song Contest final was the most watched grand final in the competition’s history, the BBC has said.The final of the competition, which was held in Liverpool, attracted an average of 9.9 million viewers, with a peak of 11 million. This represented a 63 per cent share of the audience overall.The last ratings peak occurred in 2011 when an average of 9.5 million watched.
