Bloc Party have announced that their ‘Little Thoughts’ EP as well as “every song missing” from their catalogue will be added to streaming services.In celebration of the band’s 20th anniversary, they have announced that their 2004 EP will finally be added to all music streaming platforms along with other tracks and remixes that were not available to be streamed previously.The songs from the ‘Little Thoughts’ EP as well as early fan favourites and B-sides such as ‘Tulips’ and ‘Skeleton’ have long been missing from services such as Spotify, much to fans’ dismay.Bloc Party shared the news in an Instagram post that read: “In 2024, we’ll also (finally!) be adding every song missing to all the streaming services during the year, it’s taken a long time for all the boring admin to get sorted, but by the end of next year we intend for every track, remix and EP to be live, starting with the ‘Little Thoughts’ EP – yes, including ‘Skeleton’, you can stop emailing, calling, texting, dming and commenting about it now

Sam Ryder and Bloc Party have been added to the list of artists joining Music Venue Trust’s United By Music UK tours.Organised by The National Lottery and Music Venue Trust, the tour sees over 150 gigs visit over 130 venues across the UK, in support of the grassroots music sector.Now, adding to the already extensive list of musicians taking part, English alt-rock band Bloc Party have been added to the bill, as well as former Eurovision sensation Sam Ryder. Bloc Party have returned with ‘Traps’, their first new music in five years, and with it have shared details of a new album and UK/European tour.‘Traps’ is the first taste of ‘Alpha Games’, the band’s follow up to 2016’s ‘Hymns’, which is released on April 29, 2022.The single is a frenetic affair that recalls the post-punk urgency of their 2005 debut ‘Silent Alarm’.

Franz Ferdinand‘s Alex Kapranos has shared a handwritten note from Bloc Party‘s Kele Okereke asking to support the Scottish band in 2003.Kapranos’ band, who were to release their self-titled debut album six months later, played a headline show at the Electrowerkz venue in London on October 24, 2003.Ahead of the gig Okereke wrote to Kapranos and the band, sending them Bloc Party’s first demo and asking to be considered as a support act at their next London show.“Hey Alex, this is Kele from Bloc Party,” Okereke’s note read, which Kapranos shared alongside a photo of an accompanying press release about the then-fledgling band.
