Meghan Markle's lawyers 'to monitor dad Thomas Markle's YouTube' for 'personal attacks'
Meghan Markle's lawyers will be keeping a close eye on her father Thomas' YouTube channel for any personal attacks against the Duchess, a royal expert said today.Thomas Markle, 77, has made a number of comments in videos on his new channel, including claiming he would be "thrilled" to provide evidence against his estranged daughter and her husband Prince Harry in court.Meghan is currently being sued for defamation by her half-sister Samantha Markle. The 57-year-old claims Meghan made "false and malicious" comments about her during her bombshell TV interview with Oprah Winfrey and to the authors of the controversial biography Finding Freedom. The lawsuit, filed in Tampa, Florida, demands $75,000 (£57,000) from the Duchess plus her half-sister's legal fees.Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams believes legal representatives for Meghan and Harry are likely to keep tabs on Thomas' activity. He told MailOnline: "Meghan's family have been extremely hostile to her and Remarkable Friendship, the name of this new channel, sounds extremely amateurish, but the Sussexes' lawyers will no doubt keep an eye on its contents."Future episodes seem unlikely to attract any interest at all unless they feature personal attacks on Meghan."The claims come following Thomas Markle's first YouTube video where he expressed his faith in his eldest daughter's case and insisted he would be willing to give evidence in court."I would be more than happy to," he said. "I've been trying for almost four years to get to see my daughter and her ginger husband in a courtroom face-to-face.
