Eurovision fans all had the same complaint on Saturday night as the highly anticipated Grand Finale finally hit screens.

After King Charles and Queen Camilla’s video cameo during the first semi-final of the 2023 Eurovision, the Saturday grand final featured another royal appearance during the epic performance of last year’s winning song, “Stefania,” by Ukraine’s Kalush Orchestra, which opened the show.

K.J. Yossman Catherine, the Princess of Wales, made a surprise appearance during the opening of the Eurovision Song Contest’s grand final on Saturday evening alongside Andrew Lloyd-Webber, rapper Ms Banks and last year’s Eurovision winners Kalush Orchestra, who hail from Ukraine. The princess, who is married to Britain’s Prince William, appeared in a pre-recorded clip playing an instrumental version of Kalush Orchestra’s winning song “Stefania” on the piano, which she recorded in the Crimson Drawing Room of Windsor Castle earlier this month. The clip was part of a montage of different artists – including Lloyd-Webber and Ms Banks – who performed a version of the song alongside Kalush Orchestra themselves. Also featuring in the line-up were last year’s runner-up Sam Ryder, Ballet Black, Bolt Strings, and Joss Stone.

Several British stars have turned down the offer to help ring in King Charles III’s coronation. Multiple reports claimed that Harry Styles, Elton John, Robbie Williams and the Spice Girls have all declined to perform at the coronation concert on May 7 on the grounds of Windsor Castle.The king and his wife Camilla, queen consort, are being crowned on May 6. It was previously reported that Adele and Ed Sheeran also said no to the historical gig.
