After the release of “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” it was clear Sony wasn’t very close to being done with the film’s sequel, ‘Beyond the Spider-Verse,’ despite a March 2024 release date. That led to the studio removing the third film from the release calendar completely.

Miller took to X on Tuesday to deny a claim from The InSneider about problems with the third film in the Oscar-winning franchise, “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.” The newsletter reported on Monday evening that Sony had “scrapped most” of the movie for creative reasons, and that it “would be unlikely to debut before 2027.” “Nothing has been scrapped,” Miller tweeted in response.
