Napoleon has been released – check it out below.The new film stars Joaquin Phoenix as the historical military commander, Napoleon Bonaparte, and charts his rise to power, as well as his relationship with Empress Joséphine (Vanessa Kirby).Described as a “spectacle-filled action epic that details the checkered rise and fall of the iconic French Emperor”, an official synopsis says the film “captures Bonaparte’s relentless journey to power through the prism of his addictive, volatile relationship with his one true love, Joséphine, showcasing his visionary military and political tactics against some of the most dynamic practical battle sequences ever filmed”.The film also stars the likes of Tahar Rahim, Ben Miles and Rupert Everett, while it was written by David Scarpa (The Man In The High Castle, The Day The Earth Stood Still).The original score for Napoleon has also been released. It was composed by Martin Phipps, who has previously worked on scores for the likes of Brighton Rock, The Railway Children Return, Black Mirror, Peaky Blinders, and The Crown.The score is comprised of 15 songs and runs for just under 48 minutes.

The Crown season six features a wealth of ’90s nostalgia.Created by Peter Morgan, the Netflix show’s final season starts off in 1997 weeks prior to the death of Princess Diana (Elizabeth Debicki) and her lover Dodi Fayed (Khalid Abdalla) in a Paris car crash. The season is set to conclude in 2005, with the wedding between Prince Charles (Dominic West) and Camilla Parker Bowles (Olivia Williams).The season has been split into two parts, with the first four episodes being released on November 16, and the final six episodes arriving on December 14, 2023.The final season’s score is composed by Martin Phipps, who previously did the score for the show’s third, fourth and fifth seasons.

The Crown starts to roll out on Netflix screens later this week and yesterday, 12th November, the global premiere took place in Los Angeles. Taking place at the Regency Village Theatre in Los Angeles, California, the likes of Elizabeth Debicki (Princess Diana), Jonathan Pryce (Prince Philip), Khalid Abdalla (Dodi Fayed), Rufus Kampa (Prince William in Part 1) and Fflyn Edwards (Prince Harry in Part 1), Ed McVey (Prince William in Part 2), Luther Ford (Prince Harry in Part 2), Meg Bellamy (Kate Middleton in Part 2), and more hit the red carpet before attending a screening of the first episode.

When creating a score to fit the nuanced humanity of the man on a brutal warpath, composer Martin Phipps had quite the challenge. It only became that much more complex when he reached out to director Ridley Scott, who offered him no specifics on a musical theme.
