Thompson to direct. They have been part of the franchise’s creative team since 2018’s “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” with Persichetti serving as part of the original film’s directorial trio and executive producing the 2023 sequel, “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” and Thompson working as the production designer on the first film and joining the directorial trio on the second installment with Joaquim Dos Santos and Kemp Powers.

Sony Sets ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ Live Orchestral Concert With Daniel Pemberton and Metro Boomin at Academy Museum (EXCLUSIVE)

Clayton Davis Senior Awards Editor Sony Pictures will conduct a live orchestra at the Academy Museum featuring the bombastic music from its animated feature (and best picture) contender “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.” At a special invitation-only event at the David Geffen Theater, the studio will feature an exhilarating arrangement of electronics, turntables and a live orchestra performing the original score from Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation’s box office smash by Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning composer Daniel Pemberton. The concert will feature appearances by Oscar-winning producers and screenwriters Phil Lord and Chris Miller; the film’s directors Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers and Justin K.

‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ Crosses $500 Million Globally

So far, Sony’s animated comic book sequel has grossed $290.4 million in North America and $215.9 million internationally, which brings its worldwide tally to a mighty $506.3 million. It currently stands as the third-highest grossing domestic release of the year, behind Universal’s “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” ($572 million) and Disney’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” ($345 million). And it’s the fourth-biggest global release following “Mario” ($1.3 billion), “Guardians” ($822 million) and “Fast X” ($679 million). “Across the Spider-Verse” opened on June 2, collecting a huge $120 million during its first weekend in theaters. Despite competition from “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts,” another comic book adventure “The Flash” and Pixar’s animated “Elemental,” the second “Spider-Verse” remained a huge draw at the movies and even managed to surpass the entire run of its 2018 predecessor, “Into the Spider-Verse” ($384 million), after just 12 days of release.

‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ Trailer: Miles Morales Told His Mission Is ‘A Sacrifice’

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” has web-slinged its way online. In the animated sequel, Miles Morales (voiced by Shameik Moore) and Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld) work to save every Spider-Man, Spider-Woman and Spider-Person in the multiverse. Together with a new crew, Miles must stop a mysterious new villain, who happens to be planning a disaster that could disrupt each universe. In the trailer, he is told, “Being a Spider-Man is a sacrifice.” Alongside Moore and Steinfeld, the cast includes Oscar Isaac as Spider-Man 2099, Jake Johnson as Peter B.
