Everton chief Bill Kenwright involved in ugly confrontation with fans after Villa loss
Everton chairman Bill Kenwright was confronted by angry supporters following their Premier League defeat to Aston Villa.Kenwright, who has been a board member for 33 years and chairman since 2004, made the call to sack Rafa Benitez last weekend after a torrid first half of the season.Benitez had lost not only 10 of the 19 league matches he took charge of, including a dismal 2-1 defeat to Norwich City which ultimately cost him his job, but also the backing of the Toffees fanbase.And it seems that the supporters have also had enough of Kenwright, as a group of them congregated outside Goodison Park to call for his resignation.Kenwright exited the stadium and was met with a chant of "let go if you love the club", which stopped him in his tracks.The 76-year-old paused to take the plea in, and then approached the fans who respectfully allowed him to have his say while he was guarded by police officers.In a video shared on social media, he can be heard replying: "How would that help?"
