Although his evil character Stephen Reid caused havoc on the cobbled streets, Coronation Street fans were sad to see actor Todd Boyce leave their screens.
However, the star has now revealed he won't be leaving the world of acting any time soon and is set to take to the stage this Christmas time.
Following Friday's episode, which saw Stephen leave Weatherfield in a body bag, the 62-year-old American actor told Birmingham Mail about his upcoming plans. "I'm dead excited," Todd said. "The last week of November I start rehearsals for panto, which runs the last three weeks of December." He continued: "And then Bill Kenwright, who was famously an actor in Corrie before he became a massive theatre producer, has just offered me — without even blinking — the Laurence Olivier part in Sleuth. "That's going to be a tour starting in Windsor and doing a tour around London, and then coming to The Lowry here [in Salford].That's going to take me through to the end of June." Todd departed the soap in scenes many fans hadn’t seen coming, after his character had committed a string of murders and attempted a few more, which were unsuccessful.
In shocking scenes, the truth about Stephen finally came to light and, as he rushed to the airport to make his escape, he realised he didn't have his passport.
