Writer and director Andy Fickman is probably better known to UK audiences these days for his work as director of the stage-show Heathers: The Musical. However, not long ago in his career, Fickman was the man behind both She’s the Man and Race to Witch Mountain. He has now returned to film once again with Blue Light, a horror story that is very close to his heart. Inspired by an experience that he and some friends had as teenagers, Fickman uses Blue Light to explore the concepts of belief, superstition, and paranoia.

Brent Lang Executive Editor “Heathers the Musical” is returning to New York after an extended run in London and throughout the United Kingdom. The show will play a limited engagement through Sept. 28 at New World Stages, producers Bill Kenwright LTD., Paul Taylor-Mills and Jerry Goehring announced on Monday.

Wizards of Waverly Place is creating its own universe as Disney Channel has officially greenlit a sequel series Wizards (w/t) with original stars Selena Gomez and David Henrie reprising their roles and taking on executive producer duties. Production on the new series begins In April in Los Angeles with a premiere tentatively scheduled for later this year on Disney Channel and Disney+.

Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa are working on a stage reimagining of the movie, which also starred Mark Ruffalo as the boy next door as well as Andy Serkis as Garner’s boss and Judy Greer as her best friend.

Naman Ramachandran Village Roadshow Pictures has teamed with Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment for the U.K. release of the live-captured version of hit West End production “Heathers: The Musical.” The live-event style distribution strategy marks a first for both companies and will see a series of events premiering at more than 320 screens across the U.K. and Ireland from March 28 through May 6. In addition to screening the musical, each event will feature a bonus 10-minute special titled “Behind the Scenes at The Other Palace,” named for the London venue where the musical was filmed in 2022 as a Roku original for the North American market. Sky VIP also ran a preview screening on March 21 in 30 Vue cinemas across the U.K.
