WhatsApp is once again experimenting with a new look and feel for the popular messaging app, this time with a brand new interface design for voice calls.

The new interface will let you see live animated' waveforms' in group calls as if you were recording a voicenote. WABetaInfo explains:"As you can see in this screenshot, WhatsApp has redesigned the interface when you’re in a group call. "A similar redesign is also available when you place a simple voice call, as announced in a previous article when the feature was under development.

If the new interface is enabled, people can also see real-time voice waveforms."However, not everyone is impressed. On Twitter, one WhatsApp user said: "Adding useless features like always"Another demanded: "what about WhatsApp for iPad, when will [it] be released???"The new update is only available to certain iOS beta testers today. The app is also set to bring wallpaper images to voice calls, although these can't currently be changed.Other new WhatsApp additions include a global voice note player, as well as an experimental feature which replaces the old horizontal media bar with a gallery button.Instead of accidentally swiping up on the camera and showing off all your recent pics, they can now be hidden by default.

To try out the new feature, you'll need to be signed up to the iOS WhatsApp beta which you can access for free via the app.To sign up, follow these steps:The WhatsApp beta is where the app developers test new and experimental features for the messaging app before releasing them to the general public. If you join the beta programme, you'll get to try out nifty new features on a weekly basis, such as message reactions, a new app layout, cryptocurrency payments, and even voice note.
