WhatsApp: the encrypted messaging app has just added a new feature which will make it much easier to store and keep them before they go.The latest Android beta of WhatsApp is reportedly adding a feature that will let you keep disappearing messages.
If you decide to keep a message, it will give you an alert asking if you want to keep the message in the chat. If you do this, the message will no longer disappear from the chat and still be visible to the recipient.Luckily, it's still possible to delete the vanishing messages later on, so if you've accidentally saved something sensitive, there's still a way out.
WhatsApp insiders WABetaInfo explained: "At the moment, you can temporarily disable disappearing messages, forward the message to the same chat, and enable disappearing messages again, but this procedure is enough cumbersome. "For this reason, WhatsApp is developing a feature that allows keeping specific messages in the chat."It added: "When you decide to keep the message, it won’t disappear from the chat after its expiration and the recipient can still see it, but they can delete it later."To test out the new feature, you'll need to sign up to the Android WhatsApp beta. This isn't always open to everyone as numbers for the beta programme are limited.
