Mooky Greidinger, CEO of exhibition giant Cineworld, has been handed a six-month suspended prison sentence and a £23,000 ($28,000) fine by Israeli officials over a breach of anti-trust law.

Exhibition giant Cineworld reported its full-year 2021 earnings this morning in London, showing sharply narrowed losses and vastly improved revenues versus 2020. CEO Mooky Greidinger is bullish on the the outlook for the world’s second-largest exhibitor which also owns Regal in the U.S., as the company predicts admissions in 2022 could reach 85% of the record-breaking domestic levels seen in 2019 and as much as 95% in offshore markets including the UK and Central Europe where Cineworld operates.

Cineworld has revealed plans to reopen cinema screens in the UK in May, in line with current Government guidance, and will reopen its Regal cinemas in the US from next week.

Regal Cinemas, in the US at least, is closed down completely, right now. That’s hundreds of locations around the country with their doors locked and no movies playing on its various massive screens.
