TikTok has launched its own streaming distribution service SoundOn, designed to “empower new and undiscovered artists, helping them develop and build their careers”.The platform will allow artists to upload their music directly to TikTok, meaning they can earn royalties when their music is used. SoundOn will pay out 100 per cent royalties to music creators in the first year and 90 per cent after that.SoundOn can also distribute music to other streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music and is set to offer a range of support tools for artists, including audience insight and development alongside advice from a dedicated artist team.TikTok launched a music distribution service, SoundOn.This was inevitable! Abby Roberts has spoken in praise of her “great coach and mentor” Halsey at the BandLab NME Awards 2022.The Leeds TikTok star-turned-solo musician was in attendance at last night’s O2 Academy Brixton ceremony in London (March 2) to present Halsey with the Innovation Award alongside Jamz Supernova.Roberts spoke to NME on the red carpet prior to the Awards kick-off to discuss her friendship with Halsey, who she will support on the latter’s ‘Love And Power’ tour in the US this year.“We became friends a couple of months when I was just hanging about in LA,” Roberts explained. “I didn’t even know Halsey knew who I was whatsoever! But we hung out a bit, clicked straight away and became such good friends.“They’re honestly one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met, and such a great coach and mentor to me, especially [as I’m] just starting out in music now.

Abby Roberts has returned with a new track – watch the video for the lovestruck ‘Pink Champagne’ below.The new track follows Roberts’ viral debut single ‘Paramaniac’, and has had success on TikTok ahead of its official release. It comes ahead of a number of UK festival appearances – including London’s Community and The Great Escape in Brighton – as well as a summer tour of the US in support of Halsey.Speaking of the motivations behind ‘Pink Champagne’, Roberts said: “I wrote ‘Pink Champagne’ because I wanted to have a go at writing a love song but without making it cliche, there’s so many love songs out there and I didn’t wanna be all soppy!“It’s essentially a breakup song reminiscing about the nicer parts of a not so perfect relationship, I think it’s super visual and manages to bring you on a journey with the dreamy vibes.”Watch the track’s official video, directed by Grow Up Sad, below.Having gained fame through TikTok posts about make-up, beauty and art that have received many millions of views, Roberts has since worked with the likes of Yungblud, Zara Larsson, Liam Payne and more.Speaking to NME earlier this year for an In Conversation video interview, she spoke of her upcoming six-track debut EP, and dream of working with Arctic Monkeys.Explaining that she hadn’t played guitar before starting work on the EP, Roberts told NME: “Guitar came to me before I knew that I wanted to ever put music out there.

Community Festival has announced its return for 2022 with headliners Two Door Cinema Club alongside The Wombats, Pale Waves and more.After an enforced two year break due to COVID, the indie festival will return to the capital’s Finsbury Park on Saturday, July 16, set over two stages.Two Door Cinema Club, who previously headlined the event in 2018, return for 2022, and commented: “We’re so happy to be headlining Community Festival! It’s been a rough couple of years for live music so we’re very excited to get back to doing what we do best. The lineup is fantastic and we can’t wait to see some of the best established and newest bands.”The Wombats added: “We’re so excited to be heading back to Finsbury Park this July to play Community Festival with such an amazing line up! Halsey has announced details of a second show at the famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre for this summer.The new show, set for July 7, comes the day after an existing show at the Colorado venue. Support will come from The Marías and Abby Roberts.The gigs come as part of Halsey’s Love And Power US tour in support of fourth album ‘If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power’.

Sound City Festival 2022 has revealed its latest line up - joining the likes of The Lathums, Self Esteem and Yard Act.The hugely anticipated festival will return to venues across Liverpool between April 30 - May 1 2022, and is described as "the home of new music discovery."Music fans can discover some of the biggest upcoming artists, as well as watch headline acts from artists including Alfie Templeman and The Reytons.They will be joined by a whole host of newly announced acts across the weekend, as the festival prepares to celebrate its 15th anniversary.Revealed on February 1, the latest artists to join the line up include music icon Tim Burgess, who will share an extraordinary insight into his career with fans at the festival.Speaking about his return to Liverpool, Tim said: "It’s brilliant that festivals are happening again. A great chance for us to not only play, but to watch some brilliant new artists too.

Halsey has announced a run of North American dates behind her excellent 2021 album If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power. The pop songwriter will embark on a 22-date trek with a number of great openers spread out across the run: PinkPantheress and beabadoobee will guest on the first half of the tour with The Marias and Abby Roberts joining Halsey until the tour's conclusion in Irvine, California.

Halsey is going on tour!

The Great Escape has announced details of 100 more artists who will play this year’s festival, which returns to Brighton from 12-14 May. It follows the announcement of the first 50 acts on the 2022 bill last year.Among the latest additions to the line-up are The Amazons, Yard Act, Rebecca Black, Sinead O’Brien, Baby Queen, Abby Roberts, Dylan Fraser, Indigo De Souza, Lola Young, Crawlers, Malaki, Enola Gay and Madison Cunningham.In addition to the update on who is playing the main TGE festival this year, more details have also been revealed about The Road To The Great Escape, live music showcases taking place in Glasgow and Dublin in the run up to the main festival – in Glasgow on 6-7 May and Dublin on 9-10 May.Artists due to play those shows include Abi Coulibaly, Conor Albert, Dylan Fraser, Eli Smart, English Teacher, Frankie Beetlestone and Wallice.As always, the main TGE festival will see more than 450 artists play at more than 35 venues across Brighton.
