News of the hip-hop acquisition was first published by Billboard on Tuesday morning and arrives as Shamrock continues to forge major investments in catalog sales, expanding a portfolio that includes the master recordings for Taylor Swift’s first six albums, which it acquired in 2020 from Scooter Braun’s Ithaca Holdings. Metro Boomin is riding high on the streaming and sales success of his second full-length album, “Heroes & Villains.” The R&B and hip-hop set was released last December and was the St. Louis artist’s biggest album in terms of first-week sales. It was also his second record to debut at No. 1 on the all-genre inclusive albums chart.

The New York Police Department are investigating an incident earlier this week in which it is alleged that Travis Scott punched a man in the face and caused thousands of dollars worth of damage to equipment at a nightclub in the city. Travis Scott is being accused of causing $12,000 worth of damage at Manhattan, New York City nightclub Nebula early Wednesday morning.

The New York Police Department wants to question rapper Travis Scott about an alleged assault on a man at a Manhattan nightclub, Fox News Digital has learned. "As of right now there is no one being sought in regard to the incident," the NYPD revealed. "However, the investigation is ongoing." Scott allegedly got into a physical altercation with a sound engineer at the nightclub amid a heated argument, according to multiple reports.

Officers from the New York City Police Department confirmed to Variety that the assault occurred at Club Nebula in Midtown Manhattan around 2 a.m. “A 52-year-old male and the 31-year-old male got into a verbal dispute which escalated into a physical altercation,” a representative said. “The victim was punched in the face and there was subsequent damage to an audio speaker [and] a video screen causing about $12,000 in damages. The investigation is ongoing.” No arrests have been made.
