Netflix has picked up its first ever Russian drama series with Anna K. The Wrap reports that the streaming service has ordered Anna K to series, starring Svetlana Khodchenkova.
The show center on the literary character, Anna Karenina, from Leo Tolstoy‘s novel of the same name. Anna is the wife of the soon-to-become governor of St.
Petersburg, who enters a life-changing love affair with Vronsky, the dashing heir of an aluminum empire. Their affair quickly careens out of control, threatening the delicate balance of their familial bonds and social relationships.
