Moscow 'death squads' kill all deserters trying to leave Ukraine, captured soldier says

Vladimir Putin's "death squads" that he says have been set up to kill anyone trying to return home, refusing to take part in his savage war.

Many of Russia's troops entered Ukraine under the pretence of a peacekeeping mission, and have been horrified and confused upon learning the truth about Putin's invasion of Ukraine.However the 22-year-old unnamed soldier said there "really is" a death squad killing military personnel who abandon fighting and desert, which has led to many Russian troops surrendering.In a chilling warning, the young fellow said anyone wanting to desert the military "won't make it", reports MailOnline.It is just one of the many sickening tactics Putin has employed as he pushes on with decimating Ukraine.

The captured solider also said that troops' phones are confiscated, so they can't access international news coverage of the war.In a recorded interview by the Ukrainian Security Service, the young solider said: "As we came in we realised the situation, that we're not going into a peacekeeping mission, but to fight."There were questions to commanders, sort of like ''why the hell are we doing this'', but to turn back and leave?
