More cars left submerged as heavy rain causes road beneath bridge in Levenshulme to flood AGAIN

Cars were left submerged on Monday (April 10) after a spell of heavy rain caused a notorious south Manchester road to flood yet again.

Pictures showed the moment drivers were caught in the water beneath the railway bridge on Crossley Road, in Levenshulme, after the region was hit by showers on Easter Monday.

The problematic road hit headlines earlier this year when it was blocked off by fire crews who were forced to wade through the water and rescue two people who had become trapped when their cars became submerged. Photos taken on Easter Monday appear to show a red Mercedes stranded underneath the railway bridge. However, the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue confirmed they were not called out to any incidents.
