A man charged with murdering his partner while on holiday in Denmark almost three years ago is set to stand trial in October.

Donald McPherson, 46, of Ducie Street in Manchester, is charged with murdering his partner Paula Elisabeth Leeson, 47, from Sale, in the small town of Norre Nebel on June 6, 2017.

On Tuesday 6 June 2017, Danish authorities were called to reports that a woman had drowned whilst on holiday at an address on Sondervang, Norre Nebel, in Denmark.

The emergency services attended and Paula was pronounced dead, according to a statement from Greater Manchester Police. "This charge has come following a joint investigation between the Danish authorities and GMP," said the statement.
