Shocking photos taken when the house was being cleared out revealed the extent of the mess inside, with filthy walls and windows and stacks of binbags filling every bit of the floor - some containing magazines over ten years old.A dead rat was also visible on top of the discarded fireplace, as many of the belongings bore shredding marks from where the animals had made their way through.Neighbours, who once had to tell their grandchildren not to play outside after spotting rats in the garden, eventually bought the house with plans to restore it.Grandparents Stephen Colette Dowd.
