News broke of her exit back in August, and she was reportedly “blindsided.” Now, we also know how the character was written off the show. Keep reading to find out more… As she agreed to donate her liver to Lulu Spencer, Sam was prepped for surgery on Thursday (October 24), giving her time to say goodbye to some of the people who have meant the most to her over the years, including Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn), Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Jason (Steve Burton).
She was wheeled into the operating room, holding back tears. When Sam returned to the screen this week on Wednesday (October 30), we learned that the surgery was a success.
She even got engaged to Dante! However, she started crashing, and her half-brother was forced to call her time of death. Her actual final episode will air later this week, via TVLine.
