Black Lives Matter protests have been taking place in Rochester for several days, since horrifying footage emerged of a black man made to wear a hood by police officers as he lay kneeling on the street.
Seven officers have been suspended over the asphyxiation death of Daniel Prude. He was arrested in March in a brutal incident only revealed in videotape footage made public this week.The tape, which was recorded by an officer’s body camera, shows a group of officers putting a mesh hood over Mr Prude’s head as he kneels on a Rochester street and snow falls around him.Prude, 41, died seven days after the March 23 arrest in Rochester.
