Police were called shortly before 8pm on Sunday (June 6) to a report of a 17-year-old girl being raped at Blackley Recreation Ground, off Cooper Lane.

Following subsequent enquiries, Greater Manchester Police has discovered that the incident took place at a property close to the park.

Officers believe that the attacker was known to the victim and that there is no risk to the wider public. GMP says that the girl is continuing to receive specialist support from police and other appropriate agencies.
