Liv Hewson has pulled their name from consideration for Yellowjackets for the upcoming Emmy Awards.
The 27-year-old actor, who is non-binary, has withdrawn their name from even being submitted for consideration for one of the top television prizes. Keep reading to find out more… Late last month, it was revealed that Showtime was going to push Liv for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, along with several of their co-stars on the hit series.
However, Liv is politely declining and their reasoning comes from how the Emmys split up the categories into gender norms. “There’s not a place for me in the acting categories,” they told Variety. “It would be inaccurate for me to submit myself as an actress.
It neither makes sense for me to be lumped in with the boys.” Liv added, “It’s quite straightforward and not that loaded.
