This week's installment of NPR's Tiny Desk Concert is a special one: Trina, the hugely influential Miami rapper, took the stage to perform songs with the help of a full band.
The performance began with a heartbreaking rendition of "Mama," a 2019 song written in tribute to Trina's mother who passed away from cancer.
From there, Trina launched into her hits "Da Baddest Bitch," "Single Again," "Here We Go," and "Nann N****," all laced with a wonderful neo-soul sound that underscores their timelessness.
