Ahead of the Season 1 finale, Syfy has renewed its hit original series The Ark for a second go-round. The renewal comes amid strong ratings for the series from Independence Day writer-producer Dean Devlin.

BreAnna Bell Syfy has ordered a second season of “The Ark,” NBCUniversal announced on Wednesday. Created by Dean Devlin, “The Ark” takes place 100 years in the future when planetary colonization missions have begun as a necessity to help secure the survival of the human race. The first of these missions on a spacecraft known as Ark One encounters a catastrophic event causing massive destruction and loss of life. With more than a year left to go before reaching their target planet, a lack of life-sustaining supplies and loss of leadership, the remaining crew must become the best versions of themselves to stay on course and survive. Christie Burke, Richard Fleeshman, Reece Ritchie, Stacey Read and Ryan Adams star.

NBC has renewed all six of its Dick Wolf-produced shows including the One Chicago franchise — Chicago Med, Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. — and the trio of Law & Order dramas — the mothership series, Law & Order: SVU and Law & Order: Organized Crime — for the 2023-2024 season.

Joe Otterson TV Reporter Peacock has given a straight-to-series order to an adult animated comedy that will reunite “Silicon Valley” co-creator Mike Judge and series star Zach Woods. Titled “In the Know,” the new animated series is co-created and executive produced by Judge, Woods, and Brandon Gardner. Judge and Woods will also lend their voices to the series. The pickup of the show marks Peacock’s first adult animated series order. The show’s official logline reads, “Lauren Caspian is NPR’s third most popular host. He’s a well-meaning, hypocritical nimrod, just like you and me. He’s also a stop motion puppet. Each episode follows the making of an episode of Lauren’s show In the Know, in which Lauren conducts in-depth interviews with real world human guests. Lauren collaborates with a diverse crew of NPR staff. They are also puppets and nimrods.”

Peacock is getting into adult cartoons.

Peacock’s The Resort is coming to NBC primetime. The premiere episode of the popular comedy thriller series will air on NBC Wednesday, August 24 at 9 p.m. ET/PT following a live results telecast of America’s Got Talent.

Selome Hailu Peacock has given a straight-to-series order to Jason Woliner for an untitled project in the style of his work on “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm.”While plot details remain under wraps, the project is described as “mix[ing] fact and fiction to tell a bizarre and incredible tale.” Woliner, who directs and executive produces the project, has been shooting it for over a decade.Executive producers also include Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver and Loreli Alanis for Point Grey Pictures; Megan Ellison for Annapurna; and Michael Sagol and Bert Hamelinck for Caviar. Tyler Ben-Amotz also produces for Caviar.

Jason Woliner, director of Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, has scored a straight-to-series order for a mystery project in the vein of the Sacha Baron Cohen film from Peacock.

Christopher Meloni-led  will return for season 3, the network announced Tuesday. They join the previously renewed , which was picked up through season 24.“The iconic  brand has long been synonymous with NBC and we couldn’t be more excited to bring back all three of these dramas for the 2022-23 season,” said Lisa Katz, President of Scripted Programming at NBCU Entertainment and Streaming.

Both Law & Order and Law & Order: Organized Crime will be back for new seasons. NBC has renewed Law & Order for a 22nd season and spinoff Organized Crime for a third season.
