Tiger King star Doc Antle is indicted with animal cruelty and wildlife trafficking. The owner of Myrtle Beach Safari, real name Bhagavan Antle, was propelled to fame on hit Netflix series Tiger King earlier this year.
Doc Antle, 60, was charged with one felony count of wildlife trafficking, one felony count of conspiracy to wildlife traffic and four misdemeanor counts of conspiracy to violate the Endangered Species Act.
He was also indicted with nine misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty The attorney general’s animal law unit investigated the zoo for a month.
It was unearthed Antle and Keith Wilson, owner of Wilson’s Wild Animal Park, were allegedly trafficking lions from Virginia and South Carolina.
