Vladimir Putin have suffered grim deaths, often under mysterious circumstances.Russian politicians and journalists have been found hanged, shot in the head and poisoned with tea without anyone being found responsible.

The Kremlin has denied having any involvement in the brutal murders below but with each of them opposing Putin's rule, suspicion very much still remains.Critics are often said to have died in "suicide" or random killings, but evidence suggests collusion and conspiracy, with Russia's state machinery ensuring any investigations are closely controlled.Here are some of those who got on the wrong side of Putin and later met a chilling demise.Russian businessman and former confidant to Putin, Tsepov reacted horrendously to a cup of tea when visiting Kremlin colleagues in September 2004.

He suffered from vomiting, diarrhoea and a sudden drop of white blood cells before dying 13 days later.A postmortem determined he had been poisoned by an unspecified radioactive material.Putin critic and former officer of the Russian Federal Security Service, Litvinenko who had defected to Britain, fell ill on the same day he met two other former agents.

He was admitted to Barnet General Hospital in London two days later and then moved into an intensive care unit elsewhere in the capital.After 20 days in hospital battling what was later revealed to be radionuclide polonium-210 poisoning, Litvinenko died on November 23 2006.
