The brothers who created Stranger Things and streaming giant Netflix have been sued for allegedly ripping the idea for the show from an unpublished screenplay.

According to Digital Spy, production company Irish Rover Entertainment filed a lawsuit which claimed the Sci-Fi series stole its concept, including the plot and characters, from its TV series project Totem.

The screenplay is written by Jeffrey Kennedy, who is reportedly responsible for the series' "plot, sequence, characters, theme, dialogue, mood, and setting, as well as copyrighted concept art".

Both shows are said to be connected by Aaron Sims, who is said to have helped Jeffrey develop Totem, according to the lawsuit.
