Stephen Robinson revealed nothing surprises him in football after Trevor Carson made it clear he wanted to leave St Mirren - just three months after signing a new contract extension.
The Saints number one had looked set to settle in Paisley after an impressive debut season between the sticks, agreeing a new deal that saw him commit to the club until the summer of 2025 in March.
But the Northern Ireland international was surprisingly left out of Saints pre-season trip to Belfast last month, with it quickly emerging the 35-year-old is on the lookout for a new club.Robinson wasted no time in bringing in a replacement given the importance of the position, with Zach Hemming joining on a season-long loan from Middlesbrough.
And while stating there hadn’t been a big fall out behind the scenes, Robinson felt he had little choice but to move on and build for life without Carson going forward.
