Soap fans have aired their concern over the news that ITV shows Coronation Street and Emmerdale will likely go head to head with BBC One’s EastEnders in the TV schedules.
It was recently announced that ITV are undergoing a huge schedule shake-up that will see both Corrie and Emmerdale going out in brand new time slots.
As part of the channel’s plans for ‘super soap’ weeknights, Emmerdale will air at a brand new time of 7.30pm, rather than 7pm, with an hour long-episode scheduled for Thursday evenings.
Meanwhile, viewers will be able to get their Weatherfield fix during hour-long episodes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings at 8pm, instead of two hour-long episodes and a double bill on Fridays.
