The Sue Gray report into Downing Street parties is set to finally be published on Monday but with key parts left out.Boris Johnson is expected to give a statement to Parliament after 3.30pm shortly after the long-awaited inquiry is made public.
The investigation carried out by the senior civil servant could be published in some form today and the Prime Minister will come before the Commons to give an account of himself.
The report will be an edited version of Gray’s findings after the Metropolitan Police waded into the row last week with their own investigation and requested the Cabinet Office probe make only make “minimal reference” to eight alleged parties the Met are probing.The decision when to publish the report is in the hands of Downing Street and not Gray.
But Downing Street has committed to publishing “shortly” after the report has been received amid demands from opposition MPs that the findings be published in full.
