Given, who is now working as a first-team coach at Championship side Derby County, spent just over two years at the Etihad Stadium after joining them from Newcastle United in February 2009.
At the time of his arrival at the club, City were just beginning to gather pace under the ownership of Khaldoon Al Mubarak, with the club having spent huge amounts of money in the summer of 2008, bringing the likes of Robinho and and fellow Brazilian Jo to the club.
