Piers Morgan has taken to social media, moments after Ukrainian President Zelenskyy appeared via videolink at The 64th Annual Grammy Awards. It comes after Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24 after Vladimir Putin had claimed Ukraine was historically part of Russia.Since the invasion, Zelenskyy has pleaded with international leaders to offer military assistance in the country as Ukraine continues to defend its land and capital city, Kyiv as the death toll continues to rise.During an emotional address at the star-studded event, Zelenskyy said: "The war, what's more opposite to music, the silence of ruined cities and killed people."Our loved ones don't know if we will be together again, the war doesn't let us choose who survives and who stays in eternal silence."He went on to add: "Our musicians wear body armour instead of tuxedos, they sing to the wounded, in hospitals, even to those who can't hear them but the music will break through anyway."We defend our freedom to live, to love, to sound, on our land we are fighting Russia, which brings horrible silence with its bombs, the dead silence.

Fill the silence with your music, fill it today, to tell our story."Taking to Twitter, Piers said: "Powerful moment as President Zelenskyy speaks to the #Grammys.

He's such an inspiring & effective communicator."It appears that Piers isn't the only person who was moved by Zelenskyy's appearance, with many Grammy viewers taking to social media to share their own thoughts."The Ukrainian tribute by John Legend & artists from Ukraine (introduced by President Zelenskyy of Ukraine) was incredibly moving," said one.A second went on to add: "That tribute to Ukraine made me cry.
