Piers Morgan has labelled Johnny Depp and Amber Heard as a "shamelessly deluded and self obsessed pair of whiny wastrels" during their US court battle. The former Good Morning Britain host, 57, claimed the two actors are "supreme narcissists" who are "trapped" in their own "selfish toddler-tantrum world".

The bold broadcaster blasted the ex-couple in his latest column for the New York Post on Wednesday (April 13) - after the multi-million defamation trial kicked off earlier this week.

Depp, 58, is suing his former wife Amber, 35, for libel over an opinion piece she wrote for the Washington Post in 2018 which detailed her experiences with domestic abuse. The piece was titled: "I spoke up against sexual violence — and faced our culture’s wrath" but didn't name Depp. The Pirates of the Caribbean actor launched the defamation lawsuit in 2019 seeking damages "Not less than $50million (£38 million).Depp's lawyers have argued the op-ed falsely implied he was an abuser and damaged his career, whilst Amber filed a counterclaim in response to the libel lawsuit in August 2020.In this, she accused him of creating a "smear campaign" against her as she asked for compensation of "not more than $100million" (£76.8m).

In his column, Piers argued there were "so many things" to be worried about in our turbulent world, which included the war in Ukraine and inflation. He continued: "I can honestly say that the number of f***s I give about this shamelessly deluded and self-obsessed pair of whiny wastrels could be written on the back of Mycoplasma genitalium, the planet’s smallest living organism and, appropriately, a parasitic bacterium that lives in our waste disposal organs."Morgan also described the court battle as a party of "relentlessly.
