Paedophile scout master, 83, dies of 'cruel disease' months into 15-year prison sentence

A paedophile scout master who used dogs and ice cream to “trap” children before abusing them has died just months into a 15-year jail sentence.

Roland Curran, 83, was jailed for four years in 1995, but was thrown back in jail in 2013 after more kids came forward. The victims said Curran had abused them in the 70s and 80s, claiming he had ruined their childhoods, ChronicleLive reports.

Curran was locked up once again last year, and wishing days he visited HMP Durham GP with shoulder pain. He also had difficultly “controlling his bowels” and was sent “choking and struggling to breathe.” Hospital tests revealed Curran had Motor Neurone Disease and Doctors told him there was "no cure.” A Prisons and Probation Ombudsman said wheelchair-bound
