Proclaimers track removed from coronation playlist over anti-monarchy statements

Another track has been removed from the official playlist put together by the UK government to celebrate the upcoming coronation of King Charles III. This time it’s those monarchy-hating Proclaimers who have had their song axed from the tracklisting.The playlist was put live in February supposedly to “celebrate British and Commonwealth artists ahead of the upcoming coronation”.

Dizzee Rascal has been has been given a community order with a 24-week curfew and a 12-month restraining order for assaulting his ex-fiancee during a row over child contact and finances.The 37-year-old Grime artist, real name Dylans Mills, appeared at Croydon Magistrates' Court on Friday (April 8) for the sentencing hearing.He was found guilty of attacking Cassandra Jones after a trial in March.A judge concluded at the time that the Bonkers hitmaker had been "abusive and aggressive".During the trial, Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court heard he had pressed his forehead against hers before pushing her to the ground during the incident at a property in Streatham on June 8 last year.The court heard that the musician was “frustrated” over custody arrangements and the pair had an argument when he dropped off their daughter at the property.Mills, who split up with Ms Jones in February 2021, was said to have “barged” into the home, banged his head on a fridge three times while holding his son and began “screaming and shouting” at Ms Jones and her mother Dawn Kirk.The court heard how Ms Jones began filming him but he took her phone from her and then took Ms Kirk’s phone.Two neighbours were alerted by the loud shouting and police were called, a judge was told.When the police arrived, Mills told officers "I’m the aggressor", but later gave a prepared statement in a police interview, denying the allegations and claimed he had been assaulted by Ms Jones.Following the guilty verdict, Mills smashed a photographer’s camera outside court after knocking it from their hands and hurling it across the road.Police initially said they were investigating but no charges were brought.Ms Jones said the verdict showed "wealth and status cannot be used to

supports HTML5 videoDizzee Rascal was filmed smashing a photographer’s camera outside court today after he was found guilty of assaulting his former fiancee. The Bonkers rapper – real name Dylan Mills – was convicted of assaulting Cassandra Jones, who he shares two children with, at a property in Streatham, south London in June 2021. Shortly after the verdict was read at Wimbledon Magistrates Court, Mills was captured walking down a street when he got up close to a photographer. Video footage obtained by ITV News shows Mills, 37, furiously grabbing the cameraman’s equipment before picking it up from the floor and throwing it into the road. PA news agency photographer James Manning said: ‘He came out of the court, I was taking his picture, just standing still on the corner.‘He then pushed my camera into my face, which then caused it to fall to the floor, at which point he then picked it up and then threw it across the road.‘It smashed into a lot of pieces.’ Manning added: ‘He was angry, he came straight out of the door, didn’t say anything, didn’t say anything until the point at which he pushed my camera.‘I think he said something like “get away” or “get out of my face” or something along those lines.‘After that he just walked off and I didn’t chase after him or anything like that.’ Mills had previously denied all allegations against him regarding the assault.

Wimbledon Magistrate’s Court on Friday morning, as his trial for allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend began.The rapper – real name Dylan Kwabena Mills – previously entered a plea of not guilty to assault by beating Cassandra Jones in Streatham, south London, on June 8 last year.Mills, 37, was seen heading to court this morning in a black suit, carrying his phone in one hand, and appeared to arrive on his own.Croydon Magistrates’ Court previously heard Mills is charged with ‘pushing his head against the complainant’s head and pushing her to the ground’, which he denied.The Metropolitan Police said officers attended and that a woman reported minor injuries.His defence lawyer, Iskander Fernandez, said the rapper ‘denies pushing his head into the complainant’s head and denies pushing her to the floor’.The performer’s tour manager, who ‘received a phone call when the altercation took place’ will give evidence at the trial, along with his ex-girlfriend’s mother, Dawn Kirk, the court heard.On August 2, a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police confirmed Mills had been charged, saying: ‘Dylan Mills, 36, of Sevenoaks, Kent, has been charged with assault after an incident at a residential address in Streatham on 8 June.‘Officers attended and a woman reported minor injuries.
