Dizzee Rascal 'pushed ex to ground' during row over baby's custody, court told

Dizzee Rascal "put his foreheard" against his ex Cassandra Jones' and "pushed her to the ground" during a "chaotic" row over the custody of their son, it has been alleged in court.The 37 year old rapper's trial began today, Friday 18 February, following a plea of not guilty back in September 2021 after he was charged with assaulting a woman in a house in Streatham, south London, on 8 June.

Met Police previously said that a woman "reported minor injuries" but "did not require hospital treatment." The Bonkers and Dance Wiv Me hitmaker has now appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court, where prosecutor Helena Duong explained the incident happened in “the context of a domestic dispute” about child contact.

Duong claimed Dizzee had been "swearing" on the phone when he was late to drop their daughter off and when Cassandra said he couldn't come into the property, he “barged her out the way to make his way into the house with his son in his arms”.The prosecutor went on to allege that the rapper went into the kitchen where Cassandra's mum Dawn Kirk was and began “screaming and shouting”.The court heard how Cassandra filmed him as the prosecutor went on: “The crown say it [the film] shows him raising his voice towards Ms Kirk while he has his son under his arms.
