George Floyd died from a heart attack and had fentanyl in his system, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, despite an independent inquiry ordered by his family which said the policeman putting a knee on his neck "caused death".
The medical examiner's findings revealed Mr Floyd died from cardiopulmonary arrest which made the cop's restraint more lethal.
Their report also states the heart attack occurred while George was being "restrained by law enforcement" – which means efforts to arrest him were made more complicated.
Additionally, the report adds George had fentanyl in his system as well as traces of methamphetamine, reports TMZ. His death was concluded as a homicide.
