Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has accepted that the time was right for him to "step aside" following his sacking as Manchester United manager.
Solskjaer was dismissed by United on Sunday morning following Saturday afternoon's 4-1 defeat to Watford at Vicarage Road, which condemned the Reds to their fifth Premier League defeat in their last seven matches.
Following the full-time whistle at Vicarage Road, the former United boss was booed by some members of the away end, before vowing to fight on and try and turn United's fortunes around in his post-match press conference.
